Zoomingo goes to the mall

Seattle Entrepreneur Shirish Nadkarni, co-founder of LiveMocha and CEO of the deal-finding app Zoomingo, has announced an agreement with Simon Property Group to promote Zoomingo in Washington malls. Zoomingo, a top-ranked app on both Android and iOS platforms, with currently more than one million users, tracks sales at more than 70,000 local retail outlets across the nation from the top 100 retailers. Simon Property Group, which owns over 300 malls in the U.S., will promote the app using in-mall and digital promotions, and Simon shoppers will be alerted to retailers’ sales and deals so they can save more and stretch their holiday budgets further.

In addition to the savings, shoppers can also earn bonus Zoomingo ZPoints, which are redeemable for gift cards, for visiting these properties, along with surprise gifts from stores in the mall. “Mobile has become a huge resource for shoppers in helping them make their shopping decisions. I think the key activity the people are engaging in is people are looking for local sales events,” said Nadkarni. Having received a new influx of angel investor funding, Zoomingo is working to build out its mall offer platform for retailers, which would take advantage of smartphones’ location technology to send out personalized alerts and time-sensitive offers for shoppers.
