One of Seattle’s oldest retail establishments is in the midst of a major expansion plan. Filson, a manufacturing and retail outdoor clothing store founded in 1897, has just opened a store in the Big Apple, aka New York City earlier this week. It will be the 6th retail location for Filson, which also opened its first international store in London last March.
Filson, which in years past traditionally kept to selling its products through catalogs, online, and via national and international distributors, is hoping to open 25 more brick and mortar stores in the next 5 years. It’s London store has reportedly been a success and the company is actively looking into opening more locations there. They also are considering opening a store in Tokyo, Japan as well as Minnesota and Texas.
Filson currently sells its products online to 18 different countries and has international distributors in 15 others.
