TDA recently had the pleasure of partnering with the Puget Sound Regional Council to host a delegation of IRBC representatives. The purpose of their visit was primarily to plan next year’s 2016 IRBC Conference, but during the trip the delegation also met with UW Seattle and Bothell as well as WSU representatives to discuss innovative partnerships with universities and commercialization.
The International Regions Benchmarking Consortium is an international network of city-centered metropolitan regions that find it mutually beneficial to compare and learn from each other. The purpose of the IRBC is to allow self-evaluation of economy, society, environment, infrastructure, and other urban issues using peer regions as a benchmark. To this end, IRBC is engaged in collecting and analyzing data, sharing best practices and lessons learned, and communicating this information through bi-annual conferences.
