Boeing in Washington
Approximately half of the Boeing workforce is located in Washington State, where Bill Boeing founded the company 99 years ago. Boeing's journey as a global industry leader parallels our history of building better communities. Additionally, Boeing currently works with nearly 2,000 suppliers and partners throughout the state of Washington, and that impact is broad. A recent study by the Washington Aerospace Partnership found that more than 267,000 Washington jobs are supported by the aerospace industry, and aerospace industry exports accounted for 53 percent of all Washington exports in 2014.
In 2014 Boeing, its employees and retirees gave $50 million to Washington community organizations, and our employees donated more than 100,000 hours of volunteer time. Additionally, more than 100 Boeing executives serve on non-profit boards throughout the Puget Sound region.
All of this supports Boeing’s philosophy that creating positive change permeates all that we do, both through the products and services we provide and how we operate our business in the interconnected world in which we live.
