BUSINESS AND TRADE MISSIONS

The Business and Trade Mission program provides private-sector representatives the opportunity to assess and explore specific business opportunities and to promote Washington state and Greater Seattle as a world-class center for innovation and commerce. Representatives from business education, port, and government have the opportunity to establish new relationships and facilitate closer commercial ties with dynamic global economies.

Objectives

  • Enhancing local understanding of the current economic conditions and business opportunities in overseas markets
  • Enabling delegates to meet specific business objectives, ranging from exposure to market opportunities to making individual contacts
  • Developing and expanding relationships between the business, government and multiplier organizations in and outside of our region
  • Promoting Washington state and the Greater Seattle region and our international business, port, and education resources
  • Enhancing relationships between Greater Seattle and Washington state business, education, government and labor leaders

Mission Activities

We anticipate that in each of the cities visited, activities will include some or all of the following activities:

  • Meetings with business representatives, local chambers of commerce or other similar organizations
  • Receptions with government and business leaders as funding is secured
  • Tours of facilities and other sites tailored to delegation’s composition and priorities
  • Briefings with U.S. government officials
  • Meetings with representatives of leading government offices and agencies
  • Individual business appointments, depending on feasibility and business requests
