Jordan: Energy Efficiency Project

The Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan through the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation has received financing from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) through the World Bank and from the French Global Environmental Facility (FFEM) through the Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD) for the development of a framework for supporting Energy Management in Jordanian industrial and service sectors.

International consulting firms are invited to indicate their interest in providing these services.

Uganda: Post Primary Education and Training Program (UPPET)

The Government of Uganda has secured financing from the World Bank towards support for the implementation of the Uganda Post-Primary Education and Training Project (UPPET) and wishes to apply some of the proceeds to financing the Consultancy Services to design and operationalize the Secondary Teacher Development and Management System (TDMS) for Uganda. The overall goal of TDMS-Secondary is to improve teacher quality and development for overall improvements in secondary school students’ learning and competency levels.

The Ministry of Education and Sports now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services.

Azerbaijan: Second Education Sector Development Project

The Republic of Azerbaijan has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Second Education Sector Development Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The objective of the Assignment is to provide support to preschool curriculum development and implementation process in Azerbaijan.

Qualifications required:

*Years of international experience in preschool curriculum design and implementation.

*Demonstrated understanding of children’s development at preschool age.

*Experience of international standards and curriculum design for preschool, including the work of international agencies.

*Experience of capacity-building for curriculum development for the preschool sector, including capacity analyses, specifying individual training opportunities and addressing organizational capacity issues.

*Excellent English language skills: written and spoken.

*Knowledge or experience of the education system in the FSU countries would be advantageous;

*Proficiency or working knowledge of Azeri/Russian/Turkish languages would be advantageous.

The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services.

Georgia: Avian Influenza Control Project-Human Health. Health and Social Projects Implementation Center

Georgia has received a Credit and a Grant from the International Development Association (IDA), Avian and Human Influenza (AHI) Facility Grant and a Japanese Grant towards the cost of the Avian Influenza Control and Human Pandemic Preparedness and Response Project (Project) and intends to apply the proceeds of these credit and grants to payments for:

  • Development of national healthcare associated infections control policy and operational plan

Brazil: Road Transport Project

The Federative Republic of Brazil received from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development – IBRD a loan for the Road Transport Project. This project has a component of technical assistance to National Land Transport Agency (Agência Nacional de Transportes Terrestres – ANTT). The Agency intends to apply part of the proceeds for payments of a study of the Characteristics of Demand Study of cargo highway transport.

The service will include total support to ANTT in the conception, preparation e execution of the Characteristics of Demand Study of cargo highway transport in Brazil, including the faze of the identification of the shippers based in official information and further up field surveys with a universal sample of chosen shippers. The period of implementation of the service is 10 months, beginning in August of 2010.

ANTT is seeking a selection of consultants interested in providing the services above mentioned.

Nigeria: Bauchi State Governance and Capacity Building Project (BSGCBP)

The Federal Government of Nigeria has received a Credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of the State Governance and Capacity Building Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Credit to payments under the agreement(s) resulting from this IFB.

The Bauchi State Government of Nigeria serves as the implementing agency for the project, and now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Supply, Installation, Integration, Testing, Training and Commissioning of Budget and Treasury Management Information System (BATMIS) application software, Hardware and Networking Infrastructure and related services.

Kenya: Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project II

The Government of the Republic of Kenya has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) amounting to US$30 million towards the cost of implementation of the second phase of Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project (LVEMP II), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under the project.

The second phase of Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project will contribute to towards the achievement of the EAC’s Lake Victoria Basin Development Vision and Strategy.

Project to Improve Education Quality in Malawi (PIEQM)

The Government of the Republic of Malawi has applied for a Credit in the amount of US$50 million equivalent from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank and a Grant of US$90 million equivalent from the Education for All – Fast Track Initiative towards the cost of the Project to Improve Education Quality in Malawi (PIEQM) and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this Project. The Project will be part of the Malawi National Education Sector Implementation Plan (ESIP) to be financed by various Partners and the Government of Malawi.

The objective of the Project is to increase access and equity and enhance the quality of the teaching and learning environment in basic education.

Guatemala: Water Supply and Sanitation Program for Rural Areas

The Republic of Guatemala has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) towards the cost of the Water Supply and Sanitation Program for rural areas, and intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for works to be procured under this project.

 

The Municipal Development Institute (INFOM) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction of potable water systems in the following localities:

Nepal: Project for Agriculture Commercialization and Trade (PACT)

The Government of Nepal has received financing in the amount of USD $20 million equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Project for Agriculture Commercialization and Trade (PACT), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the Government of Nepal.

The project will include the following three components (1) Agriculture and Rural Business Development; (2) Support for Sanitary and Phytosanitary Facilities and Food Quality Management; and (3) Project Management and Monitoring and Evaluation.

Procurements under ICB procedures include:
(a) Consulting services (Firms/Individual): (i) Industry food safety and quality management (assisted by local consultants); (ii) M&E Consultants for design/survey etc. for mid-term and project end evaluation and reporting; (iii) design and supervision of fumigation chamber and green-house facilities.
