
Dan Dixon | Chief Community Engagement Officer, Providence Health and Services
Dan Dixon is Chief Community Engagement Officer for Providence Health and Services, a five state 36 hospital health provider. In this he is responsible for strengthening Providence’s engagement with, and relationship to, communities served throughout the system. He provides direct consultation and support to regional and local teams already engaged in this work, and will identify opportunities for alignment across Providence.
He previously served Swedish Health Services as vice president for external affairs where he coordinated public policy, and legislative activity, marketing/communications and community development innovation. Mr. Dixon has more than 28 years of experience in the public and private sectors in law, government relations, business development, finance, international affairs and corporate affairs. Dixon was the state of Alaska's first director of international trade and investment.
Mr. Dixon also practiced law for many years with the firm of Foster Pepper and Shefelman. As a lawyer, investment advisor and general securities principal at the Seattle-based law firm, Dixon built a leading practice as an authority in domestic and international business, politics, community relations and finance. He inaugurated and helped build the firm's nationally recognized public investment fund practice.
Mr. Dixon serves as President of the Seattle Public Library Board of Trustees; Trustee of the Seattle Alliance for Education; member of the Community Development Roundtable (CDRT), and is Founder and President of the Board of Trustees of Global to Local (G2L), an organization that brings global health and community development expertise to our local communities.
