A hallmark of Bill Stafford’s career has been his nurturing of young talent. He often speaks of the Trade Alliance as a garden where young talent can bloom. The Bill Stafford Internship Fund carries Bill’s vision of nurturing young talent into the future after his retirement.
A challenge in recruiting interns at a non-profit is a lack of funding. An internship fund allows us to preserve and grow our internship program, continuing to fulfill Bill Stafford’s vision of mentoring young leaders and building ties with them around the world.
Trade Alliance interns are students at the time of their internship. They provide valuable help to staff by assisting with day to day operations, major events and special projects. While the duration of the internship may vary we generally ask for a 3-6 month long commitment, which may be extended. This length of time generally corresponds with the length of school terms and the student’s interest.
The intern fund resides within the Center for Community Service (501c3) on behalf of the Trade Development Alliance.
The Bill Stafford Internship Program is currently closed for new applications. Applicants must be a current student at the time of their internship.
