Newland Communities (www.newlandco.com) is the largest private developer of master planned residential and urban mixed use communities in the United States and for more than four decades has been creating communities that have become homes and work places for hundreds of thousands of families and businesses.  Newland’s portfolio of projects, both completed and under development, includes more than 140 diverse real estate developments with in excess of 20 million square feet of commercial and retail and over 175,000 residential units sold to builders.

Locally, the Tehaleh community (www.tehaleh.com) is a 4,700 acre Employment Based Planned Development including over 400 acres designated and entitled for 4 million square feet of commercial/industrial and retail development.   The master plan zoning and infrastructure provides substantial flexibility for the type and scale of potential uses within the Employment Centers on parcels available for sale or lease from 5 to 93 acres in size.  The Tehaleh Employment Center is a designated FTZ through the Port of Tacoma. 

Tehaleh is also the fastest selling residential community in the Puget Sound region for three years in a row with eight builders currently providing about 300 units a year in a variety of styles and price points from affordable to executive housing.    Newland is actively developing another 400 lots of the 6,400 entitled under the master plan to meet the immediate builder demand and is seeking approval for an additional 3,000 units at full build out.  With the relative value and quality of housing options, excellent schools and  over 1000 acres of open space, 10+ acres of developed trails and numerous highly amenitized parks, the community has attracted a highly-skilled and educated work force (over 65% of households with bachelors or advanced degrees and annual incomes of $100,000 or higher) convenient to employers locating in the Tehaleh Employment Center.
