Turkey, situated on the edge of Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East, is a country of about 76 million inhabitants. Estimated GDP in in 2008 is around $906 billion, with a growth rate around 1.5%, though this is expected to slow in 2009 due to the global economic downturn. In 2008, Washington State exports to Turkey totaled $1.2 billion, making it Washington State’s 14th largest export market. Top export industries included transportation equipment, computers and electronics, and machinery.
Starting his career in banking in 1997 at Pamukbank as inspector, Mr. Aciksoz was later promoted to become the branch manager of Pamukbank Bahrain Manama branch in 2002. Keeping ahead of the economic trends he had provided full support to attain the bank’s future targets and strategies. Taking on the position of Bahrain Manama branch manger of Turkiye Sinai ve Kalkinma Bankasi (TSKB) in 2004, Mr. Aciksoz, has administrated the establishment of the bank’s first branch abaraod and conducted activities to promote the bank and its shareholders. Later in 2008, he had left this position to take up ofice in the Rebpuclic of Turkey Prime Ministry Investment Support and Prootion Agency. A graduade of TED Ankara College, Mr. Aciksoz had received a degree of Bachelor of Arts from Marmara University School of Finance and Administrative Sciences, Department of Management in 1994. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in the Department of Finance from the Gazi University, Social Sciences Institute. Born in 1972, he is married and has a child.
