Celebrate the Green!

Greater Seattle is about to get even greener as Saint Patrick Day celebrations roll in. Seattle’s Irish Week began with a parade on Saturday, March 15. This year’s Parade Grand Marshal was Ambassador John Bruton, European Ambassador to the US and former Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister).  The celebration continues at the Seattle Center with special exhibits of Irish art, history, the annual Henry Weinhart’s Saint Patrick’s Day Dash and plenty of music and dancing. Tacoma hosted a ceilidh ( Gaelic for a good old-fashioned dance) on Sunday with performances by Melissa Curtis’s Evolution Irish Dance School and Mooncoyne Celtic band and plenty of opportunities for everyone to dance. The Muses played a Celtic concert at the Bellevue Regional Library and Riverdog in Issaquah is sponsoring their fourth annual pet adoption event. So pick a partner, a pup, or a pint and celebrate with St. Pat.
