Join Mr. Cohen of the Washington Economic Development Commission for an overview of trade data and inbound investment stories between Washington State and China. The program will highlight important changes and challenges in the Chinese economy, Washington-China trends and analysis through the second quarter of 2011, how China’s continued economic development offers both opportunities and challenges for Washington state businesses and the state economy, and state programs to assist businesses interested in expanding their sales into China.
Spencer Cohen is the senior policy advisor for the Washington Economic Development Commission. Mr. Cohen’s primary responsibilities include policy development, analysis and strategic planning, and industry and economic research. Spencer has advanced fluency in Mandarin Chinese, having studied for more than seven years and lived and traveled in China for more than 3 years. He has a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics and history from the University of Connecticut, an MA in China Studies from the University of Washington, and is concurrently working on his PhD in geography, also from the University of Washington.
