Port of Everett and FESCO growing services to Russia

The Port of Everett will be expanding its service offerings, thanks to a growing relationship with Russia-based FESCO Transportation Group. The transportation group will soon expand its operations in Everett  to include roll on roll off (ro/ro)vessels.   For seven years the Port of Everett has been the regional shipping hub for FESCO’s exports to Russia.

This new development means that the port will be able to handle more varied cargo being exported out of Everett to Russia. Ro/ro vessels can carry cargo that can be driven on and off ships, such as automobiles, versus cargo that requires cranes to be loaded and unloaded.

The port currently supports FESCO with outbound shipments of heavy equipment, mining machinery and food products amongst others.

The first FESCO ro-ro ship is expected to arrive in the port in late May, destined for Vladivostok. FESCO  is the largest intermodal transport operator in Russia.
