This November, the American-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce will bring a delegation of Icelandic companies lead by the Minister of Industry of Iceland, Mrs. Ragnheidur Elín Árnadóttir to Greater Seattle. During their time here the delegation will explore business opportunities specifically in the areas of IT, maritime and fisheries and renewable energy. This meeting is an opportunity to hear first hand from government leadership on the Iceland economy and to cultivate relationships with the delegation.

Minister Ragnheidur Elín Árnadóttir became Iceland’s Minister of Industry and Commerce in May of this year. She completed her MS degree in International Relations from Georgetown University. From 1995-1998 she worked for the Icelandic Export Council, and until 2007 worked variously as an assistant to the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Icelandic Prime Minister. Since 2007 she has served in the Independence party.

Promote Iceland is a public-private partnership established to improve the competitiveness of Icelandic companies in foreign markets and to stimulate economic growth through increased export.
