Randy Aliment’s practice emphasizes commercial law advice and business litigation. His experience includes national coordinating counsel in mass tort litigation, securities fraud litigation and contract negotiations on behalf of sports figures. In 2012, he served as Chair of the 25,000-member Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association. In 2013, he was elected to the Executive Committee of the Union Internationale des Avocats headquartered in Paris, France.
Mr. Aliment has represented clients in numerous state and federal courts and administrative bodies in several states and Canada. He has also represented clients involved in commercial transactions in Europe, the Middle East, China, and Japan. He collaborates extensively as a Foreign Consultant to the firm’s Chinese affiliate Duan & Duan in his representation of US and Chinese entities in various transactions, agreements and joint ventures. He joined former Governor Christine Gregoire in September 2010 and Governor Jay Inslee in November 2013 on their trade missions to China. In 2014, Mr. Aliment served as editor and co-author of an eBook titled “Invest Washington” that has also been translated to Chinese. The book is intended to attract foreign investment in Washington State.
Mr. Aliment has repeatedly been recognized as an outstanding Pacific Northwest lawyer, including: Super Lawyers magazine, many years; the listing of Best Lawyers in America 2013 – 2015; and the Who’s Who of International Business Lawyers, 2011 – 2015. In 2012, he was named recipient of the University of Puget Sound’s Distinguished Alumni Professional Achievement Award. Mr. Aliment’s Martindale-Hubbell rating is “AV Preeminent”—the highest peer-review rating available.
