TDA board member Clare Petrich was among the panelists at the Global Nagpur Summit, an event with the goal of making Nagpur, India a global city by the year 2020. This was the second time the summit has been organized by Nagpur First, a group from Nagpur that focuses on supporting those who contribute to the growth of the city. Commissioner Petrich presented on how TDA helps the Greater Seattle region be successful internationally.
The summit brings Nagpur citizens who are making a difference together with a variety of representative from around the world who are invested in the development of the city. Petrich took part in what was a day of discussions of Nagpur’s future outlook and strategies for the road ahead. Further, the Global Nagpur Summit recognized and awarded the efforts of those who have contributed to the growth of the city. In attendance for this awards ceremony were Drs. Abhay and Rani Bang, two social activists who have revolutionized health care for India’s poorest.
Overall, the Global Nagpur Summit acts as a global development platform, supporting individuals, organizations, and local leaders as they attempt to position Nagpur as a global city. It reflects an extraordinary level of collaboration in the effort of city development. Petrich represents TDA’s increasing interest in India as a partner for businesses of the Greater Seattle area.
