The UK Government Office in Seattle works to promote Britain’s business, economic and political ties with Washington State. This broad relationship includes aerospace and advanced manufacturing, information and communication technologies, life sciences, clean technology and the low carbon economy, financial and professional business services, and retail. The UK is Washington State’s largest export destination in Europe, third largest foreign employer, and is host to a significant number of Seattle headquartered companies. The UK also partners with Seattle-based institutions on global poverty and global health programmes.
As part of its role, the UK Government Office supports UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), the British Government’s trade promotion agency. UKTI is uniquely positioned to help UK companies succeed in the US, and advise US companies looking to establish or expand their presence in the UK. UKTI’s seamless one-stop service supports businesses in their journey from finding first-class locations and the best resources to tapping into the consumer base, influential sector and cluster networks, and accessing global markets. UKTI’s San Francisco and Los Angeles teams regularly visit Seattle.
